They hold an annual event at Pickerell Park in Schertz called the Doggie Dash. It is held in May and is a 5 K Fun Run/ 3K walk with or without your dog. Many vendors, pet rescue groups and animal related organizations attend. All donations benefit spay/ neuter and vet bills.
Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is an all volunteer group in the heart of Texas that is dedicated to the health, welfare and happiness of our dachshund friends. They are based in Kerrville, Texas but service all of San Antonio and the surrounding areas. Looking for a Dachshund Weiner Dog? Look there first!
Every year, the Humane Society/SPCA shelters, medically treats, and rehabilitates over 5,000 animals that have been injured, abused, owner surrendered, or found as strays until ready for adoption. As an adoption guarantee organization, the HS/SPCA only euthanizes animals for untreatable or severely contagious illnesses, or certain behavioral problems. Through our volunteer and foster care programs and other educational programs such as Camp Humane, we educate the public on the importance of micro-chipping and spaying/neutering. We offer adoptions and support the community’s 2012 No Kill Plan by transferring animals from then San Antonio and Bexar County government shelters.
Bulverde Area Humane Society is a non-profit organization that provides a caring and secure environment for homeless and surrendered dogs and cats. Our purpose as a no-kill shelter is to assist in the pet life cycle through education, spay/neuter assistance, and promoting pet-forever families. Bulverde Area Humane Society is powered by volunteers and tax-deductible contributions.
